Grapefruit. For a lot of us it’s ‘something our parents (or grandparents) eat’. Maybe they were on to something. Packed with vitamins- A and C- and potassium, it’s a low-calorie, high-fiber food that should be a part of your diet.
ground ginger and/or ground cinnamon
Prepare oven for broiling. Position oven rack on top.
Cut the grapefruit in half. Using a small serrated knife or grapefruit knife (these are amazing if you eat a lof ot grapefruit), loosen the grapefruit sections from the membrane. Place the grapefruit halves on a baking sheet- line with foil to make clean up easier.
Drizzle grapefruit halves with honey. Place banana slices on top and flip once to coat both sides with honey. Dust with ground ginger (and/or cinnamon).
Place under broiler until bubbling and slightly browned in spots, about 4 to 6 minutes. Keep an eye on during broiling to avoid burning.
Serve warm, 1 grapefruit half per person.
