Greek Turkey Burgers
September 5, 2014
Summer’s winding down, but we still have some beautiful days ahead of us. Try these flavorful Greek Turkey Burgers while it’s still grilling season!
16 ounces 90% lean ground turkey
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup feta cheese, crumbled
1 egg white
1 tablespoon chopped mint
½ teaspoon fresh tarragon
½ tsp oregano
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Mix all ingredients until just combined. Don’t overwork the mixture- you’ll end up with tough burgers.
Preheat your grill and spray with cooking spray. Divide the meat mixture into 4 round balls. Flatten the burgers with your hand and press your thumb lightly into the center- this will keep the burgers from forming a dome as they cook.
Grill the burgers for 5-6 minutes per side, flipping once, until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees.
Serve on whole wheat buns, pita, or lettuce leaves, topped with a dollop of tzatziki, lettuce, tomato, and onion.
