Movement for Peace Sat. Feb 24th 11-12

Please join Portland TEAM Fitness in a workout challenge to support the Martin Richards Foundation on Saturday Feb. 24th from 11am-12pm.
Movement for Peace is a workout challenge where participants aim to complete as many reps of the following in an hours worth of time:
BURPEES – CALORIES on ROWER – PULL UPS – AIR SQUATS – BLOCK RUN – KETTLEBELL SWINGS
The top male and female total rep winners get a prize, while others get to support a great cause! If you want to participate, but don’t want to do all the exercises listed you still can, you simply can’t win the grand prize.
You can participate in two ways! $25 gets you access to compete in the workout, partake in post workout festivities and enter the raffle, OR $25 gets you access to cheer on your friends, have a beer while you watch people workout, and enter the raffle.
Can’t make the workout, but you would like to support the cause? Feel free to make a donation here
OUR STORY
Founded in 2014, the Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation Inc. is a 501(c)(3) charitable foundation formed by the parents of eight-year-old Martin Richard, who was killed in the bombing at the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.  In the days after his death, a photo of Martin holding a  handmade poster that read “No more hurting people. Peace” was shared over the Internet.   Martin’s view of peace went well beyond simply wanting to prevent violence. To Martin, peace meant togetherness, teamwork, fairness, sportsmanship, inclusion, and kindness.
OUR MISSION
The Martin Richard Foundation provides opportunities for individuals and communities to live out the values of peace, justice and kindness.
OUR VISION
We envision a place where people recognize the humanity in others and model the decency needed for a united, compassionate, and inclusive community.
